Established in April 2003 with investment of USD29,000,000, we were set up through a merger between the Twinings Branch of Associated British Food Ltd (British-based and ranking top 5 in European Food Industry) and Shanghai Novartis Nutrition Ltd. The latter of these companies was founded in 1993 as a joint venture between Novartis Ltd and the Shanghai Maling Aquarius (Group) Co., Ltd, and primarily engaged in the production of such health drinks as Ovaltine, “Fu Pai” Lacovo, Malted Milk, and “ExtraMalt” brand Malt Extract.

Authorized to export Malt Extract in 1994, this product has been sold to clients in Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Australia and New Zealand.

Invented by our parent company in 1865, Malt Extract, together with its end-products Ovaltine and “Fu Pai” Lacovo, are now widely used in the food industry. Free from artificial additives and having long-lasting food components, these products are used in such foods as instant drinks, breakfast cereals, biscuits, sweets, pet food, ice cream, malted soya milk, malted milk, and beer. Besides, Malt Extract can also be used in pharmaceutical applications for cultivating bacteria.
